Surgical dental treatment

Many people have unpleasant associations with teeth straightening (tooth extraction). But in reality, things are much simpler.

Under local anaesthesia or stronger pain relief, dental surgeons remove the tissues around the tooth, use special instruments to move it and pull it out. Finally, the gums are stitched.

A molar extraction is a procedure that is performed when a molar tooth is no longer suitable for treatment. During the procedure, the molar tooth is moved and removed using special instruments. 

Retained teeth are teeth that are fully formed but have not erupted for various reasons. The most common retinal teeth are the 8th to 10th mental teeth. The upper canine, lower premolars and supernumerary teeth may also be missing.

There are several degrees of retention:

complete retention, where the tooth is completely covered by bone or mucosa;
partial retention, where part of the tooth is visible. 

The resection involves cutting through the mucous membrane and accessing the bone at the site of the focus. After making a small window in the bone, the focal capsule is removed, a small part of the root apex is cut off, the root itself is covered with an infection-resistant material, and the wound is sutured.

Lip flap surgery is very often performed on children. The lips have an impact on speech, jaw formation and the position of the teeth. At a later age, if not performed in time, bone melting, gum loss and malocclusion can occur.

Laser lip resurfacing is painless and performed under local anaesthesia. During and after the procedure, the wound does not bleed, no sutures or bandages are required. 

A pinned tongue hook is a congenital condition in which the tongue hook is short and prevents free movement of the tongue.

The laser beam has therapeutic and preventive effects. It effectively kills micro-organisms, prevents infection, promotes tissue regeneration, wound healing and stops scarring.

Laser surgery is more comfortable, quicker and does not require sutures or stitches. 

Tongue flap trimming is a surgical procedure performed when the tongue flap is too short, restricts tongue movement, and makes breastfeeding and speech development difficult. During the procedure, the tongue flap is cut, thus freeing up tongue movements.
