About service

Endodontic treatment is a specialised area of dentistry that involves root canal treatment, which is required after damage to the pulp, the inner soft tissue of the tooth with its network of nerves and blood vessels. Inflammation in the root canals is a very painful and dangerous problem that will not go away on its own, so endodontic treatment is a necessary measure to preserve the vitality of the tooth and to prevent the infection from spreading to adjacent teeth, the jawbone or even other organs.

For best results, we use a high-resolution microscope for endodontic treatment. This technology allows us to effectively see even the smallest abnormalities in root canals and to help patients in difficult cases where conventional endodontic treatment is no longer an option.

Root canal treatments require a highly skilled practitioner, continuous knowledge development and exceptional competence.

How does inflammation occur in root canals?

Damage to the pulp is caused by long-term pathological processes, such as untreated decay that has started in the surface tissues of the tooth. It can also be caused by trauma, deep fractures, or improperly performed restorations or prostheses. All these processes increase the permeability of the tooth tissues and allow bacteria and micro-organisms to reach the pulp. This leads to the development of a painful and threatening inflammation that causes the patient constant discomfort and health risks.

Endodontic treatment process

  • The condition of the tooth is assessed, an X-ray is taken and a treatment plan is drawn up.
  • The patient is anaesthetised. You can rest assured that you will not feel anything during the endodontic treatment.
  • Once the medication has worked, root canal treatment begins: the root canals are opened and the condition of the root canals is assessed under a microscope.
  • Special instruments are used to clean infected tissues and micro-organisms in the root canals.
  • Once cleaned, the canals are hermetically sealed with a filling material.
  • If a large amount of tooth mass is lost during the treatment, a prosthetic tooth may be required.
