Children's dental treatment

The earlier you introduce your children to dental care and hygiene, the better off they will be in future visits to the dentist.

The first time the dentist introduces the child to the examination instruments, the patient's chair, and shows them how everything works.

During the procedure, the decayed tissues of the deciduous tooth are cleaned and the tooth is restored with a filling, thus preserving a functioning tooth. If possible, the young patient is allowed to choose the colour of the filling.

When tooth decay severely damages a tooth or trauma to a deciduous tooth causes the tooth to become dead, the infection can reach the pulp ('nerve') in the root canal. The root canals of the deciduous tooth then need to be cleaned and filled. 

A deciduous tooth is extracted when the tooth is severely decayed and can no longer be treated, when inflammation of the deciduous tooth threatens the emergence of a permanent tooth, and when the deciduous tooth is interfering with the eruption of a permanent tooth.
